I Need A Flapper

I Need A Flapper

I want to be in the 1930’s
I’d like to have a flapper girl on my arm
She’d swing her bobby curls, immaculate
Her lean body filling out those longer dresses
Her pointy breasts would jiggle when she danced
She’d smoke cigarettes
I would love her carcinogenic taste
We’d swig from my flask
I’d talk dirty to her and
she’d talk dirty to me in her Boston accent
We’d kiss and fight and spit gin at each other
But the next day I would bring her lilies
and tell her that she smelled good
We’d fuck and listen to Duke Ellington records
Maybe even ride the H train home
My flapper girl wouldn’t take looks from other fellows
Cause she knows that I would kick her ass
This is the 30’s and you have to keep your women in line
But if I got jealous she’d hit me upside the head
and let me know I’d be a damn fool,
because she’d always be faithful
I’d kiss her neck and tell her
how pouty her Irish mouth is
Because you don’t get any sexier
than a jazzy little feminist flapper
She’d talk dirty like a Bostonian should
