A Rose and a Thistle

A Rose and a Thistle

O that she would look at me

And in truth feel the same,

My breast would leap unto the heavens.

Her soft and graceful face

Is as the bud of a rose finally open,

In full bloom.

For the aching deep within my chest

Will not be sated till i myself may have that rose.

Soft, the curves of her face are a petal each,

So full of color and beauty,

But as a whole they make the most beauteous flower known to man.

Aye for that red rose so sweet,

This foul thistle would turn into a bee

If only to touch her petals,

To drink her sweet nectar,

O that this thorny thistle were a bee...

Her smell is sweet,

And her color brightens even the darkest of nights...
