A Handful of Sand

A Handful of Sand

A handful of sand

A memory of days gone by

Slowly leaks through my fingers

Grain by grain

I begin to forget…

What sand between your toes actually feels like

And why was I holding onto the sand in the first place?

But at the same time

I feel the sand against my skin

And it brings back all the memories

Just as fresh as before

Grain by grain

Slowly leaking through my fingers
