The Story Of Our Love

The Story Of Our Love

We sat and waited for the moon but instead looked at the stars.
We heard voices that screamed and told us, "look at my scars!"
I felt the feeling in the air and it wouldn''t go away.
You heard guitar strings go by as you told me about your day.
I fell in love with your eyes because they wrote me a song, and I didn''t know where my life would be without you in my arms.

We watched the road and drove by people who were saying their goodbyes.
And you noticed the rings on our fingers matched with your eyes.
I saw your smile lead over and tell me that you did and you did, and life wouldn''t be worth living if I knew that you lied.

I sat next to your bed in a room with a view.
And I cried with you that night as the doctor told us what to do.
We watched our videos from home and saw our children pass by.
And I was with you the last time you closed your eyes.
Our life continues in my heart and you still live in my dreams.
Your laugh remains on my mind and it flows like a stream. With life''s lessons in me I believe I''m ready to go. And that, that''s the story of our love.
