A fire dwindles in my soul
Ice has frozen this once erratic beating heart that is no longer whole
Veins are tightening, strangling my lungs
Air is scarce inside this tomb, the dark figure starts to speak in tongues

Almost gave up everything
Left to rot, muscles aching
Almost wasted this beautiful breath
Accept the demons, nearing death
Almost let myself free
Cease to exist and just be..

But the veins let loose
As did the noose
I emerged from this cold shell
I have seen my hell
Back from the forges the sleepless nights
Leaves are changing, I''ve won the fight

Almost never knew
The sadness that was you

Almost Lover- A Fine Frenzy
