Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow

Mystical as it may seem, I found you
there, beneath the weeping willow tree.
reading aloud a poem in which I wrote.
Your tears were of happiness as your
eyes were fixated on each word.
I gather myself, to surprise you with
a single rose of love. There you were,
so radiant, like the sun after a
morning rain. Your warm smile made my
heart race a thousand times, a thousand
ways. But yet, I only had this single
rose, a red rose to give to you.
Next to your beauty, it pales in
richness of color, which seems to fade.
I looked down, but you raised me up, to
look into my eyes. You didn''t have to say a word.
Gently, as if it were a dream, our
lips caressed in a tender kiss. I
felt the thousand ways to say how
much I loved you. But a poem, and a
single red rose is all I have to offer.
And I''ll have your warm smile
and the gentle kiss in return.
