The Music Box

The Music Box

He sits in the dark of his room, the only
sound is a music box he gave to his wife.
With each sound of a note I imagine a tear
drop falling in silence from grief of losing
a love of his life.
Life is like crystal, so fragile so dear,
I watched him rock back and forth, holding
that music box as it played their song.
His love died with her. He''s only the shell
that waits in the dark of his room, to wait
for death to ease his suffering of such loss.
Love binds our hearts into one, when we
commit ourselves to another we face the end
as it will come. But love is forever when
you become one
