As I ponder the Nature of Apologies and Forgiveness I find myself not knowing where to begin:
To me - an Apology is just the beginning.
An Honest Apology - within itself contains three individual, very powerful elements:
An Acknowledgement, a Promise, and a Ritual.
The Acknowledgement takes responsibility - for a wrong doing. The Promise is a vow - to do whatever it takes to right the wrong. The Ritual - takes The Words from The Promise and turns them into ACTION.
Action is at the beginning of Devotion and the end of Confusion.
Some say that Forgiveness should be freely given, but Forgiveness in absence of these three crucial elements is almost certainly a guarantee that you will soon be faced with another Empty Apology
Because, in the end, an Apology is just the beginning.
