Lucky Enough

Lucky Enough

As the warmth of the bright sun,
Kisses our cheeks;
A light cool breeze of the Autumn air,
My fingers intertwined into yours.
A smile dances upon your lips;
And it's breathtakingly beautiful.
My eyes flicker across yours;
I take in each part of you.
The curve in your cheeks,
The glistening crystals of your eyes.
I can't help but think,
How was I ever this lucky enough?
Then I remember, I wasn't.
I was never lucky enough,
Because I never will be.
You've changed me in ways,
I've never thought possible and for that,
I'm eternally grateful.
To one day soon, call you my husband and in the future,
The father of my children.
I will never be lucky enough,
I never was.
And that's because,
I'm not lucky,
I just make it my own and
Forever will be ours.
Not because it's meant to,
But because we know how to
Make it forever.
