Shades of Blue

The first shade of blue is a comfortable one
Its when you hold me in your arms
Warm like the setting sun yet cold like an icy wind
it feels hollow

Shade two is a darker blue
This one comes when im alone
Nagging at the back of my mind until its in front
Like a pill i choke on cuz its too hard to swallow

Shade three is a blue green
Its come and goes quickly
But always leaves me nauseous and weak
With a bitter taste in my mouth
It stop the time flow

Shade four is behind a closed door
The darkest of them all
When i think my end should just come
Wondering why i bother living
In dark memories i wallow

Shade five is the most dangerous one
It takes hold of my body
Holds a knife to my throat
Holds the gun to my head
Holds the wheel in the car
It has the power to end me if i dont fight it
And sometimes it nearly wins

In the end these shades of blue
Are stuck with me until my undoing
Could be close or could be far
But i wont know until then
