Mommy and Daddy,
Is it enough?
Did I use too much starch;
make the shirts too ruff?

Teacher, teacher,
Is this okay?
I worked out the problems
just like you say.

Whaddup, cute boy?!
Don't I make the cut?
Is it the mole on my face
or the size of my butt?

Hi, Mr. Boss.
Did I do it just right?
You gave me a boat-load
of e-mails to type.

Hey there, friend!
Are you okay?
Or are you too busy
with others today?

Hey, Coach! Hey!
I've lost so much weight!
Now I can compete
without any hate!

Hello World.
Am I doing okay?
I am trying to do things
just the right way.

But, for some odd reason,
this life's getting old.
It feels hopeless and tiring,
lonely and cold.

Perhaps people-pleasing
isn't the way
to conjure up happiness
for every new day.

I've done some new research,
and here's what I've found.
God made us special
inside and out.

Our standard should never
be people on Earth,
but the Lord up in Heaven,
who knows our true worth.

So, the next time you ache
to fulfill someone's need,
don't do it for a person...
do it for the King.
