A Poem About Poetry

Beginning, it was an amateur mime trying to make a living
in the streets of New York
Desperately reaching out to me
I didnt have any cash.

Then it was the annoying guy who sits behind me, always
trying to prove his point.
We didnt see eye to eye.

It was the Hispanic soap operas that causes my mom to wail and
clench a tissue to her nose.
There were no subtitles.

Well, I earned a little bit of money.
In the streets, the mime that were none before
shot excitement through his work
I became a regular viewer of his entertainment.

I caught myself nodding in agreement with
the annoying guy behind me
Aint that the truth

I find myself a complete mirror of my mother the moment I got home
The husband dies while the wife was sleeping with his best friend.
Though, the only word I caught was Hola

Dylan and I exchanged glances
The movie starts at eight
But I wont leave until Amigas y Rivales comes on
I tipped Andrew ten extra dollars
today, and I could have sworn I heard a faint
Thank you
