"We shall wait until the day comes, but until the last breath is taken from me I shall stay."
They all nodded their heads in agreement.
James Richard Hastings, was a powerful man, with much wisdom; he cared for many and loved by few;he was kind and gentle but put up a face to stay respected. As dark turns to day he was as bad as he was good.
I could only hope I was on his good side.No one knew him as I, no one had worked by his side for as long as I; not even his wife.
He raised his hand to call adjourned when the one I had convinced to stay rose.
"You expect us to feel secure and safe, when the only thing you care about is you and her," He pointed his finger towards my way. "You only care about the next time you and her are going to_" "Silence!" James shouted and I Rushed to my feet. "We need to keep our voices down." James began to lower his voice. Breath I told him and he calmed." "It is amusing how you have this little respect for her?" "It does not matter, lets go. I said. Things are getting a little out of the way." I extended my hand for James to grasp and follow me. As this was happening I could feel the stares from all the corners; especially the one right beside me, the one I knew I had wronged. We walked out hand and hand. When we got to his office were he was most of anyone's time; he kissed me. I knew we should be doing anything but this, but I had no power or intention to stop it. I pulled away, and I had to open my lips, part my throat to speak. "Why would you kiss me like that?" "Why would you protect me like a child and kiss me like an equal?" "Is that not what equals do, protect one another then show their desire for them; like you did many times. " Perhaps, but I don't understand why you would want me." Because I have had feelings for you since we were nothing but small, have you not for me?" "I have." And with that, he leaned in to kiss me once more; but this was when he didn't let go, and he grabed to the point I felt safe again.
