and thinking backward for a moment
to all the years of appearance
the eloquent iris of the living
just a pruning on the daisies
the so-called wonder-lotus
held in a prism for its prime
should it ever allow time to steal its beauty?

cutting back, selling to the buyers
and burying deep the seed
grab the vase, now hurry!
the glass surrounding its fragile
heartbeat from within
oh!, watch how it swims
through the mildewy green of the afternoon light;
i cant imagine how she wouldve looked in full bloom.
