Short-lived and Rushed

Short-lived and Rushed

Yesterday you were quicker,
funny, pretty, downright charming, too.
The day before, time was a flicker,
shutter lens, hinting we could be lucky now,
we might be able to jump this queue.

Hazy days carry us along sometimes,
there''s a montage waiting in the sunset.
Then midnight bells crash that fateful crime,
and isn''t that just the way?
I guess we haven''t got to Hollywood yet.

So just put on your shoes,
I''ll even walk you home, if you like.
I didn''t mean for us both to lose,
this little lust of ours, fades to afterimage,
I guess young love''s a lightening strike.
