An Anti-Ode to Socrates

An Anti-Ode to Socrates

Unlike the pompous bastards
that surround me,
Taking their fill of employee gluttony
I gaze in awe at the uncertainty
Life's little written tragedies
Which, unlike these
contain mystery
Heroes, thinkers, who set in stone the
essence of humanity

The gutted pig,
the Institution ripping the bowels of
dreamed-of freedoms
No, sir, I don't want your
abrasive conversation
Save your rot for
another doltish victim
And fuck you, Mr. Deacon,
belittling women with acts of
stating her voice is nonexistent
May you choke on all your created demons

Meanwhile I'm swimming, ignoring
your bullshit rules given by a god that
doesn't listen and a business built on

Meanwhile I'm swimming madly
To avoid creative murder
and the money whale's aperture

Meanwhile, I'll free my mind from
the stain of sunken systems

Until then, I'll build my city
within walls that will not listen.
