Church pew, picket line-
Looks the same to me:
Living water and a live wire.
I''ve done it before,
This comes really easy to me.
You can do it too!
I''ll explain how:
First, pick your wave and ride the crazy showboat of collective consciousness.
Dress the part-You''ve got to fit in to get in. That''s not bad, it''s just true.
So be sure that you are wearing the appropriate swimwear.
If you''re having trouble learning the strokes watch the instructor. (FIST)
Once you find yourself knee deep in the baptismal line,
All you got to do is, let your knees bend as the reverend tips you back.
Then you''re ready to absorb the emotional spray of whatever angry mob you''re standing in.
No matter where you absorb it, it''s going to feel GOOD.
Hooting at the worship service, Rain dancing in the pow wow, moshing at a concert, marching in a rally.
All slippery activities.
You can embrace their wet opinions
like holding the tether behind a speed boat.
*Sit up like you''re in the chair and stand as the speed pulls you to your feet.
Wave as you glide past the others in the wading pool, your feet bare- toes outstretched.
***Skiing across may seem quick,
but you''re sure to get water up your nose if you loose balance.
You can reject them.
Refuse to listen.
Slosh away all pissed and watch all the fun from the shore.
Come winter the water will freeze over and you can walk across.
It''ll be cold then, there aren''t snowshoes, and you may not have any company.
If you like groups, you can swim synchronized.
Every stoke you take brings the whole group closer
in the exact same way
at the exact same time.
Other swimmers eventually break form and accidentally butterfly kick you in the face.
These groups rarely get along,
Eventually, everyone wants to be the girl in the gold swim cap who get''s lifted
out of the water like the peak stream in a fountain.
Yes, there are many many methods of aquatic travel. There are also many ways to find purpose and happiness.
I think the important part, is that you''re enjoying the flow.
And that you''re steadily making progress on getting to the other side.
SO HERE''s my REAL WET OPINION:
I''m not saying that politics and religion are the same thing. I''m saying,
Hey guys, you''re getting the same thing out of them.
