Chelsea's Chamber \

'fraid edges

'fraid edges

wanna pick nerve ends
outta my fingertips,
like, just squeeze em tight
& peel down
pull 'em outta my arms like
celery strings.

just the biggest ones,
for those big feelings
i.e. when lonely aches
literal, haunting limbs
& they hang too heavy
& so un-numb & empty

like i can physically do
something to stop them
from barreling through,
2 mile trains
a million pounds of
relentless hard iron hurt.

if I pull up tracks,
those cars'd have nowhere
to go all at once.

the skin'd grow back.
i'd get long thin stripe scars,
actual evidence.

instead of blank white
heartbeats & a lotta
soft nothing.
